Audemars Piguet Royal Oak 15300ST: 39 mm Specs and Price Guide

|Filip Biczak
Audemars Piguet Royal Oak 15300ST in 39 mm steel with blue Grande Tapisserie dial on an integrated steel bracelet

The Audemars Piguet Royal Oak 15300ST is the 39 mm steel selfwinding Royal Oak: a time-and-date watch with the Grande Tapisserie dial, an eight-screw octagonal bezel, an integrated steel bracelet and the calibre 3120 with 60 hours of power reserve. AP made it from about 2005 until about 2012, when the 41 mm 15400ST took over, so it is the 39 mm size that sits closest to the original 1972 Royal Oak and is now a pre-owned purchase. This guide covers the specifications, how the 15300ST compares with the 15400ST, 15500ST and the extra-thin Jumbo, which dials Bizak lists, how it wears, what Bizak's catalogue asked on 1 October 2026 and what to check before buying. Bizak & Co. sources the 15300ST to order; the Royal Oak collection lists what we can seek.

What is the Royal Oak 15300ST?

It is the Royal Oak with the proportions of the original. Gérald Genta designed the Royal Oak in 1972 as a luxury steel sports watch, with the porthole-style octagonal bezel held by eight screws and a bracelet built into the case. The original 39 mm "Jumbo" established the size. The 15300ST brought that 39 mm size back in a selfwinding time-and-date watch with a modern movement, and it ran until AP enlarged the standard model to 41 mm. It has no widely used collector nickname; its appeal is the balance of the classic size, the Grande Tapisserie dial and a movement that is serviceable and well understood.

The 15300ST is the one to choose for the smaller case; the 15400ST and the 15500ST are the bigger-wrist alternatives. AP has since moved on again, with the 15510ST introduced around 2022; check the AP page above for the current model. The 15300ST is not the extra-thin Jumbo: that is the 15202ST, a different case and an ultra-thin movement, and a different price category.

15300ST vs the 26331ST chronograph and the Jumbo 15202ST

The 26331ST is the 41 mm Royal Oak chronograph, with a different movement and a busier dial, so it is a separate watch rather than a variant. The Jumbo 15202ST has the same 39 mm diameter but a much thinner case and the calibre 2121, which makes it sit flatter on the wrist and lets it fit under a cuff more easily. Most buyers who want a 39 mm Royal Oak in steel will see both, and the asks for the Jumbo are considerably higher, so the 15300ST is often the route to the 39 mm size at a lower price.

Which steel 15300ST dials does Bizak list?

On 1 October 2026 our sourced catalogue held five active steel 15300ST listings. Dial colours are taken from the listing titles, and all asks are sourced to order:

Dial per listing title Condition per listing Bizak catalogue ask, 1 Oct 2026
White Pre-owned US$26,969
Black Pre-owned US$26,969
Blue Pre-owned US$30,689
Black, index Pre-owned US$32,999
Blue Per listing; confirm condition US$37,999

The same reference appears under different listing codes, so what separates the examples is the dial, the condition and what comes with the watch. Ask for photographs of the exact piece.

How does the Royal Oak 15300ST wear?

At 39 mm with an integrated bracelet, the 15300ST wears as a compact, flat-fitting sports watch on wrists of roughly 15.5 to 18 cm (6.1 to 7.1 inches). The Grande Tapisserie dial changes character with the light, and the combination of brushed surfaces and polished bevels is the Royal Oak signature. Because the bracelet is integrated, the fit depends on the bracelet length and the number of links, and a stretched or over-polished bracelet changes the look noticeably. Compared with the 41 mm models, the 39 mm watch feels more classic and less imposing, and many owners prefer it for that reason.

How much is an Audemars Piguet Royal Oak 15300ST? Dated prices

  • Retail. AP has discontinued the 15300ST and no longer lists a price for it; current Royal Oak pricing is available from AP, and we quote no AP figure here.
  • Bizak catalogue asks. On 1 October 2026 our sourced catalogue listed five steel 15300ST examples from US$26,969 to US$37,999, depending on dial, condition and listing, all sourced to order.
  • What moves the price. A complete set with box and papers, an unpolished case with sharp bevels, an unstretched bracelet, a clean dial and a documented service each add; polishing, a replaced bracelet, a missing clasp or no papers each subtract.

Those figures describe what we saw and will move. Our Q2 2026 wholesale report does not print a figure for the 15300ST, so we do not quote a market median. Ask for a dated quote for the exact dial and set; our Audemars Piguet price guide explains how to compare quotes.

Buying a used 15300ST: what to check

  • Reference and papers. The case back, the card or certificate and the AP extract of the archives, if one exists, should agree on the reference and the serial.
  • Dial. The Grande Tapisserie pattern should be crisp with evenly sized squares, markers should be aligned, and the AP logo and print should be sharp.
  • Bezel and screws. Eight hexagonal screws with aligned slots; scratched or mismatched screws suggest the bezel has been off the case.
  • Case and bevels. Sharp polished bevels beside brushed surfaces; soft or rounded bevels mean the case has been polished.
  • Bracelet. Check for stretch, rattling links and a clasp that closes firmly; a replaced bracelet affects value.
  • Movement and service. Ask for the last service and the date; the 3120 is a robust movement but should be serviced on schedule.
  • Price against the band. A complete 15300ST offered far below the asks above is the most reliable warning sign.

Our authentication process describes what we inspect before dispatch, and our Royal Oak authentication and collecting guide goes deeper on dials, screws and bracelets.
