Blancpain Villeret Ultraplate Red Gold 40mm Opaline Dial 6653Q 3642 55B - BRAND NEW Blancpain Villeret Ultraplate Red Gold 40mm Opaline…

The Blancpain Villeret Ultraplate reference 6653Q-3642-55B stands as a benchmark of classical watchmaking elegance — a 40mm dress watch that strips away everything superfluous and lets the quality of its materials and movement speak without interruption. Offered brand new at Bizak & Co., this piece represents one of the purest expressions of fine horology available on the market today.

Blancpain's Villeret collection draws its name from the Swiss hamlet of Le Brassus's neighboring village of Villeret, where the brand maintained workshops for generations. The Ultraplate line within Villeret is defined by its "single-piece" or monobloc case construction — a hallmark engineering choice that reduces the case to its simplest possible form, lending the watch an almost architectural purity. This philosophy of reduction is central to understanding why collectors and connoisseurs regard the Ultraplate as one of the finest dress watches produced anywhere in the world.

The 6653Q-3642-55B measures 40mm in diameter, a diameter that sits confidently on the wrist without excess. The case is fashioned from 18k red gold, a warm, richly saturated alloy that develops a distinctive patina over years of wear and pairs beautifully with formal and smart-casual dress alike. The white gold bezel introduces a subtle tonal contrast, framing the dial with cool precision against the warmer case metal — a deliberate and sophisticated design decision that rewards close inspection.

The opaline dial is the heart of this reference. Smooth, slightly lustrous, and devoid of unnecessary texture, it provides the ideal backdrop for the applied Roman numerals that mark each hour. Roman numerals have been the traditional chapter-ring choice on grand complication pocket watches and the finest dress watches for centuries, and Blancpain's execution here — precise, elegantly proportioned, and perfectly spaced — upholds that legacy. The result is a dial that reads with immediate clarity yet reveals layers of craft the longer you study it. Completing the ensemble is a hand-stitched leather strap that adds organic warmth and wears with exceptional comfort throughout the day.

Powering the 6653Q-3642-55B is a mechanical movement befitting the Villeret Ultraplate's reputation. Blancpain's in-house manufacture movements are celebrated for their finishing quality, with bridges, rotors, and plates decorated to standards consistent with Haute Horlogerie tradition. The Ultraplate case architecture is engineered to keep the profile exceptionally slim, ensuring the watch slides easily under a shirt cuff — a practical virtue that any serious dress-watch wearer will appreciate.
