The Rolex Day-Date has occupied the pinnacle of the Swiss watchmaker's catalog since its introduction in 1956, and it remains the only watch to display both the date and the full day of the week spelled out in full at 12 o'clock. Worn by heads of state, presidents, and cultural icons across seven decades, the Day-Date earned its enduring nickname—the "President's watch"—through an unbroken association with power and achievement. Reference 118389MDO represents this lineage at its most extravagant, combining precious metal, extraordinary gemstones, and a dial material that is literally older than Earth itself.

The 36mm case of the Day-Date 36 is crafted entirely in 18k white gold, a material that lends the watch a cool, brilliant luminosity that complements the icy fire of the diamond-set bezel. The bezel itself is pavé-set with round brilliant diamonds, wrapping the dial in a continuous halo of light. The case and lugs follow the same refined proportions that have defined the Day-Date silhouette for generations—graceful without being delicate, substantial without being ostentatious.

The dial of the 118389MDO is fashioned from genuine meteorite—iron-nickel meteorite, specifically—which is sliced, polished, and treated to reveal the Widmanstätten pattern, the crystalline cross-hatch structure that forms only during the incredibly slow cooling of metallic asteroids over billions of years in space. Because this pattern is unique to each slice of meteorite, no two dials are ever identical. The result is a dial surface that shifts in tone and texture across different lighting conditions, ranging from silver-grey to deep gunmetal, with an almost three-dimensional topography that no manufactured material can replicate.

Beneath the dial, an automatic movement powers the watch with the precision and reliability for which Rolex is universally respected. The Oyster bracelet, one of Rolex's most iconic and enduring designs, provides a secure and comfortable fit on the wrist while extending the visual language of the white gold case seamlessly from lug to clasp. The combination of the Oyster bracelet with a pavé bezel and meteorite dial creates a striking contrast between technical sportiness and high-jewelry opulence.

For the collector or connoisseur considering a Rolex Day-Date 36 118389MDO for sale, this reference represents a convergence of factors that rarely align: precious white gold construction, diamond-set case and bezel, and a one-of-a-kind natural dial material with genuine scientific and cosmic provenance. It is simultaneously a status symbol and a conversation piece, equally at home in a boardroom or at a black-tie event. Bizak & Co. invites you to inquire directly about this reference—our team is ready to provide full details, answer your questions, and help you buy this extraordinary Rolex Day-Date online or in person with confidence.
