Rolex Lady-Datejust 31 31 mm 278288RBRDGP Yellow Gold/Diamonds Grey Rolex Lady-Datejust 31 31 mm 278288RBRDGP Yellow…

The Rolex Lady-Datejust 31 is one of the most recognized and coveted dress watches in the world, carrying a heritage that stretches back to 1957 when Rolex introduced a mid-size Datejust scaled expressly for women. Over the decades the collection has evolved in materials, dial options, and bracelet configurations, yet it has always remained true to the founding principle: a supremely refined, date-displaying automatic watch sized for the female wrist. Reference 278288RBRDGP represents a thoroughly modern interpretation of that ideal, uniting contemporary proportions with unapologetically luxurious appointments.

At 31 mm in diameter the case occupies that ideal middle ground between the classic 26 mm Lady-Datejust of earlier generations and a full-size 36 mm Datejust, offering a confident presence on the wrist without overwhelming a slender wrist. The case, lugs, crown, and the celebrated fluted-style or smooth surfaces are rendered entirely in 18k yellow gold, lending the watch a warm, saturated color that has been synonymous with Rolex prestige since the brand began producing its own gold alloys in-house. Every surface is hand-finished to Rolex's exacting standards, alternating between mirror-polished and satin-brushed zones for maximum visual depth.

The bezel of the 278288RBRDGP is set with a continuous parade of brilliant-cut diamonds, forming a scintillating frame around the dial that catches light from every angle. This diamond bezel is one of the defining features of the RBR designation within the Rolex reference system, and it elevates the watch unmistakably into the realm of high jewelry. The grey dial beneath provides a sophisticated, neutral canvas that allows the diamond bezel and yellow gold case to take center stage, while the iconic Rolex date window — framed by the brand's signature Cyclops lens for effortless legibility — anchors the watch firmly in the Datejust tradition.

Powering this reference is a Rolex-manufactured automatic movement, the same philosophy of in-house excellence that underpins every watch bearing the Rolex crown. The self-winding mechanism winds continuously through the natural motion of the wearer's wrist, ensuring accurate, reliable timekeeping day after day. Rolex movements are built to COSC-certified chronometer standards and beyond, reflecting decades of refinement in materials science and mechanical engineering, and they are serviced at any authorized Rolex service center worldwide.

The President bracelet is the crowning detail that completes this reference. Introduced by Rolex in 1956 alongside the original Day-Date, the President bracelet has historically been reserved for Rolex's most prestigious models and is constructed entirely of 18k yellow gold in this configuration, with three semi-circular links that flow seamlessly from the case to the concealed Crownclasp. Wearing it is a tactile and visual statement: the bracelet drapes with a suppleness unique to solid precious-metal construction, and the concealed clasp maintains the bracelet's clean profile. This is not merely a watch — it is a jewel designed to be worn every day.
