The Rolex Yacht-Master 16628 is the original 40 mm Yacht-Master, made entirely in 18k yellow gold: case, bidirectional 60-minute bezel and Oyster bracelet. This is the champagne-dial version (16628CHAMP), from $20,459 at Bizak & Co., with luminous hour markers and hands, a date at 3 o'clock and the self-winding calibre 3135.

What sets the 16628 apart

  • The first Yacht-Master. Rolex launched the Yacht-Master in 1992 with this reference, a 40 mm case in 18k yellow gold. Mid-size and lady's yellow gold versions followed in 1994.
