Omega De Ville Prestige 39.5mm in steel with a silver dial on a steel bracelet

The cheapest new Omega today is the De Ville Prestige quartz, a 27.5mm or 30mm steel watch listed in the low-to-mid four figures on Omega's US site. The cheapest mechanical Omega is the 40mm De Ville Prestige Co-Axial Master Chronometer, in the mid four figures. The entry Seamaster and Speedmaster models sit in the mid-to-high four figures. Pre-owned Seamasters run well under list, per dealer guides. Bizak & Co. is a sourcing desk, not an authorized Omega dealer: every watch here is found to order, not held in stock.

Which Omega is the cheapest new in 2026?

The De Ville Prestige quartz in 27.5mm steel is tied for the cheapest watch on Omega's US site. The linen dial and the burgundy dial list in the low-to-mid four figures. The white mother-of-pearl dial costs a little more. Most 30mm versions list at the same price as the linen dial.

All of them run the quartz caliber 4061. Omega rates the battery at 48 months. The 27.5mm case is 316L steel, 6.33mm thick, with a sapphire crystal and a steel bracelet on a butterfly clasp. Water resistance is 3 bar, so keep it away from the pool. This third-generation De Ville Prestige line launched in October 2022, with quartz at 27.5mm and 30mm and automatics from 34mm up.

The Constellation quartz 28mm is a close second. The plain black dial lists in the low-to-mid four figures. The green-dial Constellation quartz 28mm, 131.10.28.60.60.001, and the purple-dial 131.10.28.60.60.002 add diamond indexes and cost more, but stay in the mid four figures. Same caliber 4061, same 3 bar rating, with the engraved Roman-numeral bezel. One Constellation quartz in 25mm and one in 36mm list at the same price as the De Ville. You cannot order either from Omega online right now.

Omega used to sell quartz Aqua Terras at 28mm and 30mm. Its US site now lists them as no longer available. So the Seamaster line starts with an automatic, and the price steps up.

What does the entry Omega cost in each main collection?

Speedmaster Moonwatch Moonwatch Professional, nylon strap 310.32.42.50.01.001 Manual 3861 chronograph 42mm High four figures

Bracelets cost extra. The Diver 300M, the Aqua Terra and the Moonwatch each add several hundred dollars on steel. In the Aqua Terra line, the 41mm on leather is the entry. The current 38mm black on bracelet and the 34mm Aqua Terra with the sandstone dial, 220.10.34.20.09.001, both list at the 41mm bracelet price. The 38mm Aqua Terra in black on bracelet, 220.10.38.20.01.001, is the earlier teak-pattern dial of that watch. The current ones have a lacquered dial or a new teak dial. Both keep the same caliber 8800 and 15 bar rating. Read the Omega Seamaster guide for the full family tree.

Quartz or automatic: what do you give up at the entry point?

At the bottom of the range you give up three things: size, water resistance and the movement. The quartz De Ville and Constellation cases are mostly 30mm or under. Both are rated to 3 bar. And caliber 4061 is a battery movement with a Long Life feature, not a Master Chronometer.

Step up to the 40mm De Ville Prestige and you get caliber 8800. It is a self-winding Co-Axial movement with a 55-hour power reserve. METAS tests it as a Master Chronometer, to 0/+6 seconds a day and 15,000 gauss. Water resistance stays at 3 bar, though.

The sports models fix that. The Speedmaster 38 is rated to 10 bar. The Aqua Terra is rated to 15 bar. The Diver 300M is rated to 30 bar. You pay for the case as much as the movement.

What is the cheapest mechanical Omega?

The 40mm De Ville Prestige Co-Axial Master Chronometer on a leather strap, in the mid four figures. The same watch on a steel bracelet costs a few hundred more. It is slim at 9.93mm, with a date at 6 o'clock and a sapphire caseback.

If you want a chronograph or a diver, two models tie in the mid-to-high four figures. The Speedmaster 38 is an automatic chronograph with caliber 3330 and a 52-hour reserve. The Seamaster Diver 300M 42mm in black, 210.30.42.20.01.001, runs caliber 8800 with a ceramic dial and bezel. On rubber it matches the Speedmaster 38. On a bracelet it costs a few hundred more, and the blue-dial 210.30.42.20.03.001 lists at the same price as the black.

Within the Speedmaster family, the Moonwatch line starts with the Professional on a coated nylon strap. That strap version is the cheapest way into caliber 3861, the manual-wind Master Chronometer, with a Hesalite crystal and a 50-hour reserve. The sapphire version adds more than a thousand dollars. The white-dial Moonwatch, 310.30.42.50.04.001, with its lacquered step dial, costs a little more than the sapphire black, still in the high four figures. The Speedmaster Moonwatch guide breaks down every version.

Is pre-owned the cheaper route?

Yes, by a wide margin. Luxury Bazaar's October 2024 data put grey-market Seamasters mostly 15 to 30 percent under Omega's list. A May 2026 dealer guide from 5D Watches put used black Diver 300Ms in the low-to-mid four figures, against a list price in the mid-to-high four figures. That is a third or more under list.

List prices keep rising. Time+Tide reported the rubber-strap Diver 300M moving up by two hundred dollars in December 2021. The same watch now lists almost a quarter higher than it did then.

Older references are another route. The 39.5mm De Ville Prestige Co-Axial, 424.10.40.20.02.002, runs the earlier caliber 2500 and is no longer sold new. The 36.25mm Seamaster Diver 300M in blue, 212.30.36.20.03.001, is the same story, with a blue ceramic bezel and a 30 bar rating. The Speedmaster 38 Orbis edition in blue, 324.30.38.50.03.002, is also out of the catalog. All three now come from dealers or owners, not Omega.

Which is the best first Omega?

Buy the 40mm De Ville Prestige if you want a mechanical Omega for the least money and you wear a suit more than a swimsuit. Buy the Speedmaster 38 if you want a chronograph and 42mm is too big. Buy the De Ville Prestige quartz or the Constellation 28 quartz if the budget stops in the low-to-mid four figures, or you want a small watch with no winding. Skip the quartz if you care about the movement. The Master Chronometer models are the ones collectors talk about.
