Blue Dial Rolex Daytona: Every Reference and Metal

|Filip Biczak
Rolex Cosmograph Daytona 126509 in white gold with a bright blue dial

A blue dial Rolex Daytona today means one of three things: the white gold 126509 with a bright blue dial, the platinum 126506 with a pale ice blue dial, or the yellow gold 126518LN with a turquoise lacquer dial that collectors nickname Tiffany blue. There is no blue dial on the current steel Daytona, so every current blue Daytona is a precious-metal watch. Earlier generations added more blues, including the white gold 116509 and navy or blue Arabic dials on yellow gold and two-tone models. Bizak & Co. is a sourcing desk, not an authorised Rolex retailer, so this guide explains each blue and what to check before you ask us to find one.

Which Rolex Daytona models have a blue dial?

Three current references carry a blue dial, and each one pairs a different blue with a different metal. The table puts them side by side.

Detail White gold 126509 Platinum 126506 Yellow gold 126518LN
Blue name Bright blue Ice blue Turquoise blue
Case 40 mm, 18 kt white gold 40 mm, 950 platinum 40 mm, 18 kt yellow gold
Bezel White gold, engraved tachymeter scale Chestnut brown Cerachrom Black Cerachrom
Bracelet Gold Oyster Platinum Oyster Black Oysterflex
Movement Caliber 4131 Caliber 4131 Caliber 4131
Water resistance 100 m 100 m 100 m

All three share the 40 mm Oyster case and the automatic chronograph caliber 4131, so the decision is about metal, bezel and color, not specification. For the wider line, see our Rolex Daytona collection and the guide to every current Daytona model.

What is the white gold Daytona with a blue dial?

It is the 126509, a 40 mm white gold Cosmograph Daytona with a bright blue dial on a white gold Oyster bracelet. Rolex lists it with a white gold bezel carrying an engraved tachymeter scale, which gives the watch an all-metal look with the dial as the only color. Dealer listings place its introduction around 2025, though model-year labels vary across the market. The earlier white gold generation, the 116509, is also listed by dealers with a blue dial, and it uses the older caliber 4130 rather than the 4131. See our Rolex Daytona 126509 page and the wider white gold Daytona range, or go straight to the 126509 with the bright blue dial, listed on our site as 126509BBLU.

What is the ice blue dial on the platinum Daytona?

The ice blue dial is a pale, silvery blue that Rolex reserves for its platinum Daytona, the 126506, and it reads closer to white than to navy in daylight. It sits behind a chestnut brown Cerachrom bezel, a contrast that is deliberate. Dealers date the 126506 to 2023 and list its predecessor, the 116506, with the same ice blue dial. Because the color is platinum-only, a steel or gold Daytona sold as ice blue should be treated with caution and verified. Our dedicated guide to the platinum Daytona 126506 covers the case and what to check, and you can see examples in the 126506 listings or the current-model platinum range. A diamond-set version of the 126506 also exists, listed on our site as 126506IBDO.

Is there a Tiffany blue Rolex Daytona?

Collectors use the name for the yellow gold 126518LN with a turquoise blue lacquer dial, shown by Rolex in 2025. Rolex itself calls the dial turquoise and does not use the Tiffany name, and the dial carries only Rolex's signature. The color resembles the pale robin's-egg blue associated with Tiffany & Co., which is where the nickname comes from. It is also a different thing from a vintage Tiffany-stamped Rolex, which has the retailer's name printed on the dial. We explain the difference in full in our Tiffany blue Daytona guide, and the watch itself is the turquoise-dial 126518LN, listed on our site as 126518LNTUR.

Which blue dial Daytonas came before the current range?

Earlier generations used caliber 4130 and offered blue in gold and two-tone cases rather than steel. Our catalogue lists two of these older blues as references we can source: the navy blue Arabic-numeral 116518 in yellow gold on a leather strap, and the blue Arabic 116523 in Yellow Rolesor, which pairs a stainless steel case with an 18 kt yellow gold bezel, crown and center bracelet links. That makes the 116523 the closest thing to a steel blue Daytona, though its bezel is gold, not steel. For a blue dial with a white-metal bezel, the white gold 126509 or 116509 is the closer match. Years of introduction for these references vary by source, so confirm the production period from the papers rather than from a listing. The Rolex Daytona blue collection groups these older blues with the current ones. Some listings in that collection are gem-set watches with blue sapphires, which are a separate family from the lacquer and sunburst blue dials described here.

How do the blues compare in color?

Bright blue is the most saturated, ice blue the palest and turquoise the greenest. Light changes all three, and a dial that looks deep blue indoors can turn lighter in sun. Ask for photographs of the actual watch in daylight, because dial color varies between units and screens. This is also the quickest sanity check on authenticity: match the shade and layout to the reference rather than to the nickname.

How do you choose between them?

Choose the metal and bezel first, then the blue. The white gold 126509 suits a buyer who wants a restrained, all-metal look with one color. The platinum 126506 suits someone who wants the most exclusive metal and a quiet, pale dial. The turquoise 126518LN suits a buyer who wants a bolder color on a flexible Oysterflex strap. If the dial matters more than the metal, the older generations offer more blues at a different entry point, though condition and set completeness matter more on pre-owned watches. Market prices move, so treat any band as a guide: the platinum model sits at the top, gold models sit in the middle and older blue references are generally the more accessible way in.

What should you check before buying a blue dial Daytona?

  • Full reference and dial name. Several dials share one reference, so match the dial name to the reference and papers.
  • Metal and bracelet. Confirm the case metal, bezel and bracelet are original for the reference.
  • Generation. A 1265xx reference means caliber 4131 and the 2023 case; 1165xx means the earlier caliber 4130.
  • Dial condition. Ask for macro photographs of the lacquer or finish, counters and printing.
  • Set and warranty card. Match the serial on the guarantee card to the watch and ask whether it is unworn.

Frequently asked questions

Does Rolex make a blue dial Daytona in steel?

Not in the current range. The steel 126500LN is offered with white or black dials, so the current blue Daytonas are in white gold, platinum or yellow gold. Earlier two-tone models with blue dials exist on the secondary market.

What is the ice blue Daytona?

It is the platinum Daytona 126506 with a pale ice blue dial and a chestnut brown Cerachrom bezel. Rolex reserves the color for platinum.

Which blue dial Daytona is the white gold one?

The 126509 has a bright blue dial in a 40 mm white gold case on a white gold Oyster bracelet. Its predecessor, the 116509, is also listed by dealers with a blue dial.

Is the Tiffany blue Daytona made with Tiffany & Co.?

No. The nickname describes the turquoise dial of the yellow gold 126518LN. Rolex has not announced a collaboration, and the dial does not carry the Tiffany name.

Can Bizak & Co. source a blue dial Daytona?

Yes, to order. We confirm the specific watch, photographs and final price before you commit, so nothing here is held stock.
