Buy Tudor for value and a longer power reserve, and buy Omega for ceramic parts and Master Chronometer certification. In every pair below, the Tudor lists lower. Every Omega in this guide is METAS certified, and its divers use ceramic. Omega vs Tudor comes down to price against certification and finish. Bizak & Co. is a sourcing desk, not an authorized Tudor or Omega dealer: every watch here is found to order, not held in stock.

Is Tudor better than Omega?
Neither wins on every count, so pick by what you value. In the pairs below, Tudor wins on price and power reserve. Omega wins on certification and ceramic parts. The Black Bay and the Seamaster Diver 300M are both METAS certified, and the Omega lists about a quarter higher. The Pelagos in the table is COSC certified only, and the Planet Ocean 600M lists about half again higher. So in an Omega vs Tudor choice, you pay more for Omega's extra certification or ceramic. Which Tudor rivals which Omega?
Four pairs matter: Black Bay vs Diver 300M, Pelagos vs Planet Ocean, Black Bay GMT vs Worldtimer, and Ranger vs Railmaster. In each pair the Tudor lists lower and runs longer on a full wind. Three notes matter. First, Tudor has retired the Black Bay 58 reference M79030N and replaced it with the M7939A1A0NU in its 2026 range. The old reference page now redirects to the Black Bay 58 family page. The new watch has a 39 mm steel case that is 11.7 mm thick. It runs the MT5400-U caliber, with a 65-hour reserve and METAS certification. The old Black Bay 58 M79030N-0001 now has to be sourced pre-owned or as new old stock. The same goes for the earlier 41 mm Black Bay M79230N, which the Tudor Black Bay page no longer lists. Treat it as retired too.
Second, Omega has retired its 43.5 mm Planet Ocean 600M, 215.30.44.21.01.001. Its page says the watch is no longer available. The current steel Planet Ocean 600M is a 42 mm watch with the 8912 caliber.
Third, Omega's GMT in the Aqua Terra range is a Worldtimer. A ring of destinations runs around the dial, and a 24-hour ring shows day and night. That makes it a different tool from the Black Bay GMT. Tudor's 2026 range also adds a 39 mm Black Bay 58 GMT.
How much does each cost at list?
Omega lists higher in all four pairs. The bands in the table come from US list prices on the brands' own sites on November 2, 2026. The gap runs from about a quarter on the Diver 300M to about double on the Worldtimer. The Ranger is the cheapest Tudor in the table, in the low to mid four figures. The Pelagos is the priciest, in the mid to high four figures, and it still sits well under the Planet Ocean 600M. Rubber-strap versions of the Black Bay and the Diver 300M list a few hundred dollars lower.
How do the movements and certification compare?
Across these pairs, Omega has the stronger certification, and Tudor has the longer power reserve. Every Omega in the table is a Master Chronometer, approved by METAS, the Swiss Federal Institute of Metrology. METAS asks for a rate of 0 to +5 seconds a day on the Planet Ocean and the Worldtimer. It asks for 0 to +6 on the Diver 300M and the Railmaster. It also checks timekeeping in a 15,000 gauss magnetic field. COSC, a prerequisite for METAS, allows -4 to +6 seconds a day on a single movement.
Tudor builds its own calibers with Kenissi, its movement plant, founded in 2016. Tudor assembles and tests every watch at its Manufacture in Le Locle. All five Tudors in this guide are COSC certified. Tudor also holds their Manufacture Calibres to its own tighter rate of -2 to +4 seconds a day. Of these five, only the Black Bay and the Black Bay 58 add METAS status, on the MT5602-U and the MT5400-U. The Pelagos, the Black Bay GMT and the Ranger stop at COSC. Tudor says all new Tudor watches will be METAS certified in time.
On power reserve, the five Tudors list 65 to 70 hours. The four Omegas list 55 to 60 hours.
How do finishing and materials compare?
In these pairs, Omega uses more ceramic. The Diver 300M has a black ceramic bezel with a white enamel scale and a black ceramic dial. The Planet Ocean 600M has a ceramic bezel, a titanium inner ring and a titanium caseback. The Diver 300M, the Railmaster 38 and the Worldtimer have transparent casebacks. The dive bracelets add a comfort setting and a diver extension.
On the Tudor side, the Black Bay, the Black Bay 58 and the Black Bay GMT here use aluminum bezel inserts, not ceramic. Their cases and bracelets mix polished and satin surfaces. Tudor's T-fit clasp, on the Black Bay, Black Bay 58 and Ranger, adjusts the fit fast. Of the five Tudors here, only the Pelagos has a ceramic bezel disc. It also has a titanium bracelet, and it comes with a spare rubber strap. The Black Bay 58 is 11.7 mm thick, thinner than all four Omegas here.
Which holds its value better, Tudor or Omega?
It is close. WatchCharts in November 2026 shows current Omegas trading about 31 percent under list on average. Current Tudors trade about 33 percent under. But in these two samples the Tudor loses a smaller share. On Chrono24 on November 2, 2026, most asking prices for the 41 mm Black Bay M7941A1A0NU ran 5 to 30 percent under list. The middle price was about 12 percent under. Most asking prices for the black-dial steel Seamaster Diver 300M also ran 5 to 30 percent under list. The middle price was about 18 percent under. Asking prices are not sale prices, so treat them as a guide. In dollars this Omega gives up more, because it costs more and falls further.
Tudor's five-year guarantee passes to the next owner, with no registration or periodic maintenance checks. That helps when you sell. Omega also gives five years. For the Rolex side of this question, read Tudor vs Rolex and Rolex vs Omega.
Which is easier to buy, Tudor or Omega?
Omega is easier to buy, because its US site sells many models online. Tudor sells only through Tudor Official Retailers, so you buy from a retailer. Omega still lists some watches as unavailable online. The Aqua Terra GMT Worldtimer 220.10.43.22.03.001 showed that notice on November 2, 2026. Retired watches take more work to find. The Black Bay 58 M79030N and the 43.5 mm Planet Ocean 600M have to be found pre-owned or as new old stock. See the cheapest Omega watch guide for where Omega starts.
Should you buy Tudor or Omega?
Buy Tudor if you want the most watch for the money, a case from 39 to 42 mm and a reserve of 65 to 70 hours. The Black Bay 58 and the Pelagos are the strongest picks. Buy Omega if you want ceramic parts, METAS certification on every model above and, on most, a transparent caseback. The Seamaster Diver 300M is the one to try first, with 300 m of water resistance. Decide on the wrist, not on the spec sheet.
