Why the double balance wheel matters. Most mechanical watches regulate with one balance wheel. This calibre uses two, mounted on a shared axis and oscillating in tandem. When a watch changes position on the wrist, gravity distorts the rate of a single balance in a predictable direction; with two balances working together, the error in one is largely offset by the other. The practical effect is better rate stability across positions. It is one of the few modern complications that is genuinely functional rather than ornamental, and because the dial is openworked you can watch both balances running.

On ceramic. Machining ceramic is nothing like machining steel.
