The Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Offshore Diver 15720 is the current Offshore dive watch: a 42 mm case rated to 300 m with an internal rotating dive bezel set by a second screw-down crown at 10 o'clock, a Mega Tapisserie dial and the calibre 4308 with 70 hours of power reserve, on an interchangeable rubber strap. Audemars Piguet introduced it in 2021 to replace the 15710, which had carried the calibre 3120 since the Diver first appeared in 2010. This guide covers the specifications, what changed from the 15710, the dial colours, how the internal bezel works, how the watch wears, dealer prices in 2026 and what to check before buying one. Bizak & Co. sources the 15720 to order; the Royal Oak Offshore Diver collection lists the configurations we can seek.

What changed from the 15710 to the 15720?
- Movement. The 3120 with 60 hours gave way to the 4308, a member of the 4302 family with 70 hours, a larger balance and a quick-set date. Through the caseback the 4308 shows a more open rotor and modern finishing.
- Case. The 15720 case is slightly slimmer in profile with a redesigned bezel and thinner lugs; the octagonal shape is unchanged but the watch sits a little flatter.
- Strap. An interchangeable strap system replaced the fixed strap; the strap releases with a push under the lugs and most references ship with a second strap.
- Dial. Bolder applied markers and a redesigned inner bezel ring with a broader scale. The date window sits at 3 with a colour-matched disc on most dials.
- Crown guards and crowns. Larger, easier-to-grip crowns; the 10 o'clock crown still screws down to lock the bezel.
The 15710 remains a good watch and a cheaper one; the 15720's advantages are practical (power reserve, strap changes) rather than visual.
15720 dial colours and references
| Reference | Dial | Bizak catalogue, 21 Sep 2026 |
|---|---|---|
| 15720ST.OO.A002CA.01 and A010CA.01 | Black | US$30,999 |
| 15720ST.OO.A027CA.01 | Blue | US$30,900 |
| 15720ST.OO.A052CA.01 | Green | US$32,960 |
| 15720ST.OO.A009CA.01 | Grey | US$32,959 |
| 15720ST.OO.A355CA.01 | Black with contrasting strap | US$36,564 |
| 15720ST.OO.A403CA.01 | Blue, later variant | US$37,999 |
| 15720CN.OO.A002CA.01 | Black ceramic case, black dial | US$51,499 |
Black and blue are the core dials and the easiest to source; green and grey came later and carry a small premium. The black ceramic 15720CN is a separate proposition in weight and price. Audemars Piguet also produces boutique-only colours from time to time, which explains the spread of dial codes.
15720 vs 15710 vs 15703: which Offshore Diver?

The 15720 is the one to buy new. The 15710 is the value route to the same case and 300 m rating for roughly two-thirds of the price, with the 3120 being a proven movement; its coloured-dial versions (orange, yellow, white) have a following of their own. The 15703 is the first-series Diver and closest to a collector's piece.
How does the internal dive bezel work?
Unscrew the crown at 10, turn it to rotate the inner ring until the marker aligns with the minute hand, then screw it back down before entering the water. Because the ring sits under the crystal it cannot be knocked out of position and never collects grit, and because it is locked by the crown it cannot be turned by accident. The trade-off is that it rotates both ways and must be set with dry hands, which is why professional divers tend to prefer an external unidirectional bezel. For most owners the internal bezel is a timer for parking, cooking and flights, and the Offshore Diver is the only Royal Oak that offers one.
How does the Offshore Diver 15720 wear?
At 42 mm and about 14 mm thick with a rubber strap, the Diver wears smaller than a 42 mm Offshore Chronograph because there are no pushers and the strap curves down from short lugs. It suits wrists from about 17 cm (6.7 inches); below that it looks large. The steel version weighs noticeably less than a Royal Oak 15510 on its bracelet. The rubber strap is comfortable in heat and water but marks easily against the lugs, so a spare is worth having. There is no bracelet option from the factory, and the ceramic 15720CN is lighter still.
How much is a Royal Oak Offshore Diver 15720? Retail and dealer prices in 2026
- Retail. Audemars Piguet's list price for the steel 15720 has sat in the mid-US$20,000s in 2025 and 2026; the current figure is on the brand's site by market. Allocation through AP boutiques has been tight since launch, and most buyers wait.
- Secondary market. Unworn full-set steel examples have generally been asked at a premium to retail since 2021, with green and grey dials at the top and black at the bottom. Pre-owned 15710 examples trade well below the 15720's retail.
- Bizak catalogue asks. On 21 September 2026 our sourced catalogue listed the steel 15720 from US$30,900 (blue) and US$30,999 (black) to US$37,999 (later blue variant), the black ceramic 15720CN at US$51,499, and pre-owned 15710 examples from US$18,599, all sourced to order.
Those figures describe what we saw and will move. Ask for a dated quote for the exact dial, year and set; our Audemars Piguet price guide explains how to compare quotes.
Is the Offshore Diver 15720 a good investment?
It is a watch to wear. The premium over retail is smaller than on the Royal Oak 15510 or 16202, so buying at a dealer premium and holding gains little, while buying at retail and wearing loses little. Discontinued dial colours and the ceramic case hold value best. The 15710 has appreciated slowly since it was discontinued and is the sensible buy if resale matters more than the 70-hour reserve. If you want a number before you commit, ask for a written cash-buy assessment.
Buying a used Offshore Diver 15720: what to check
- Warranty card. The card names the full reference and matches the case serial; Audemars Piguet does not reissue cards, and current production carries a five-year warranty.
- Crowns. Both crowns should screw down smoothly and seat fully; a crown that cross-threads or stops short means worn threads and a failed pressure test.
- Internal bezel. With the 10 o'clock crown unscrewed, the ring should turn with even resistance and align with the minute track; slack or grinding means a service.
- Pressure test. Ask for the date of the last test. Gaskets on a dive watch that has been swum in should be replaced at each service.
- Case. Even brushing on the bezel and case sides, sharp bevels, aligned screws; the wide bezel shows polishing more than a Royal Oak.
- Strap and buckle. Original AP rubber straps are marked inside; the pin buckle is signed. Check the strap ends for cracks where they meet the lugs.
- Lume and markers. Applied markers should be firmly seated; lume on hands and markers should match in colour under UV.
- Price against the band. A full-set green or grey dial offered well under the market is the single most reliable warning sign.
Our authentication process describes what we inspect before dispatch, including a pressure test on every dive watch.
