The Rolex Submariner Date 126610LN is the black Submariner: a 41 mm Oystersteel dive watch with a black Cerachrom bezel, black dial, date at 3 o'clock and the calibre 3235 with 70 hours of power reserve. Introduced in September 2020 as the successor to the 116610LN, it is the most produced and most requested Rolex reference and the one most first-time Rolex buyers mean when they say "a Submariner". This guide covers the specifications, what changed from the 116610LN, how it compares with the no-date 124060 and the green Starbucks, retail and used prices in 2026, and what to check before buying. Bizak & Co. sources the 126610LN to order; the Submariner collection lists the configurations we can seek.

126610LN vs 116610LN: what changed in 2020?
- Size. 41 mm instead of 40 mm, but with slimmer lugs and a narrower crown-guard profile, so the 126610LN wears close to the old watch and looks less blocky than the 116610LN's "super case".
- Movement. Calibre 3235 replaced the 3135: 70 hours of reserve instead of 48, the Chronergy escapement, a redesigned date mechanism and better resistance to magnetism.
- Bracelet. Wider 21 mm lugs and a bracelet that tapers less; same Glidelock clasp.
- Dial and bezel. Very close; the hour markers are marginally larger and the bezel insert's platinum graduations slightly bolder.
A used 116610LN is the value route: it costs less, has a ceramic bezel and the Glidelock, and 40 mm suits smaller wrists. It gives up the long reserve and the current warranty.
126610LN vs 124060: date or no-date?
| 126610LN | 124060 | |
|---|---|---|
| Date | Yes, with Cyclops | No, plain crystal |
| Movement | 3235 | 3230, same base without the date module |
| Case | 41 mm, 300 m | 41 mm, 300 m |
| Retail, 2026 | US$11,350 | US$10,050 |
| Character | The classic; easier to sell on | Cleaner, symmetrical dial; the purist's choice |
They are the same watch apart from the date and the Cyclops. The 126610LN is the more liquid of the two and the one dealers are asked for most; the 124060 saves about US$1,300 at retail and is the one to choose if the magnifier bothers you.
126610LN vs the Starbucks 126610LV
Identical apart from the bezel insert: green Cerachrom on the 126610LV, black on the LN. The green watch lists US$550 higher and trades US$1,500 to 2,500 higher second-hand because it is produced in smaller numbers. If you want a Submariner to wear with everything and resell without explanation, the black bezel is the answer; the green is for buyers who want to be noticed.
Does the 41 mm Submariner fit a smaller wrist?
Usually, yes. The 41 mm figure is misleading on its own: the 2020 case has slimmer lugs than the 40 mm "super case" it replaced, the lug-to-lug is about 47.5 mm, and the Oyster bracelet tapers to the clasp, so on a 16.5 cm (6.5 inch) wrist it sits inside the wrist bones. Below about 16 cm the lugs start to overhang and the older 40 mm references or a 36 mm Explorer are the better fit. The Glidelock clasp adjusts in 2 mm steps without tools, which matters more for daily comfort than the case diameter. Try one on with the clasp closed; if the case stays centred when you bend your wrist, it fits.
How much is a Rolex Submariner 126610LN? Retail and used prices in 2026
- Retail. Rolex's US list price was US$11,350 on 12 September 2026, up from about US$10,000 in 2024 after increases in January 2025 and 2026. Authorised dealers allocate the 126610LN to existing clients; a walk-in wait of one to three years is normal.
- Secondary market. In 2025 and 2026, unworn full-set 126610LN examples have generally been asked in the US$13,000 to 15,000 range, and pre-owned full sets from about US$12,000. The premium over retail has narrowed steadily since 2022 as production caught up with demand.
- 116610LN. Used examples with card have generally sat in the US$9,500 to 11,500 range in the same period.

Is the Submariner 126610LN a good investment?
It is the most liquid watch in the world, which is not the same as a good investment. A full-set 126610LN sells in days at a small premium to retail, and that premium has been shrinking, not growing, since 2022. Buy it as the watch you can wear anywhere and sell in an afternoon; if the resale question matters, ask for a written cash-buy assessment before you commit. Our best first Rolex guide explains why it is still the default answer.
Buying a used 126610LN: what to check
- Warranty card. Card serial and rehaut engraving should match; Rolex does not reissue cards. Post-2020 cards carry a QR code.
- Bezel. No chips on the Cerachrom edge; 120 crisp clicks with no back-play; aligned at 12.
- Case. Sharp lug chamfers and even brushing; a rounded case edge means polishing, which lowers value.
- Clasp. The Glidelock should lock at every step; worn teeth are a service item.
- Crystal and Cyclops. Look for a chipped Cyclops edge; replacements are cheap but should be disclosed.
- Water resistance. Ask when it was last pressure-tested if you intend to dive or swim.
- Price against the band. A full-set 126610LN offered well under the market is the single most reliable warning sign, because there is no shortage of buyers at the market price.
