The watch on this page is a modified Rolex Cosmograph Daytona 126509, not a factory Le Mans. It is a genuine 40 mm white gold Daytona 126509 on its white gold Oyster bracelet, with the calibre 4131 inside, that a third party has fitted with an aftermarket black ceramic bezel and an aftermarket black dial in the style of Rolex's Le Mans edition, the 126529LN. Bizak & Co. lists it under the catalogue code 126509LeMans so that the modification is visible in the name, and this guide exists so that no reader mistakes it for the real thing. It covers what the genuine 126509 is, what the genuine 126529LN is, how to tell a factory Le Mans from a modified 126509 in under a minute, what non-Rolex parts do to the Rolex guarantee and to resale value, how the white gold Daytona siblings compare on price, and what to check before buying either the modified watch or an unmodified one. Bizak & Co. sources every Daytona to order; the Daytona collection lists the configurations we can seek.

What is the Bizak 126509LeMans listing?
It is a standard white gold Daytona 126509 whose bezel and dial have been swapped outside the factory to copy the look of the 126529LN. The case, bracelet, crown, pushers and movement are Rolex parts made for the 126509; the black ceramic bezel and the black dial with white counters are not Rolex parts and were not fitted by Rolex. The table below sets the two watches side by side.
| Factory Le Mans 126529LN | Bizak listing 126509LeMans | |
|---|---|---|
| What it is | A Rolex reference launched in June 2023 for the 100th anniversary of the 24 Hours of Le Mans | A Rolex 126509 in white gold with a bezel and dial that Rolex did not make or fit |
| Bezel | Black Cerachrom with the "100" on the tachymetric scale in red | Aftermarket black ceramic |
| Dial | Black lacquer with white counters, a reversed-panda layout | Aftermarket black dial with white counters |
| Movement | Calibre 4132, chronograph hour counter graduated to 24 hours, sapphire case back | The 126509's own calibre 4131, hour counter graduated to 12 hours, solid case back |
| Rolex guarantee | Applies as issued by Rolex | Excluded: Rolex's guarantee does not cover watches modified with non-genuine parts |
| Bizak catalogue ask | US$256,964, listed on October 12, 2026, sourced to order | US$48,174, listed on October 12, 2026, sourced to order |
The price gap is the whole story. One is a scarce Rolex reference with its factory provenance; the other is the ordinary white gold Daytona wearing a costume. Both can be the right purchase, but only if the buyer knows which one is in the box.

What is the genuine Rolex Daytona Le Mans 126529LN?
Rolex presented the 126529LN in June 2023, in the week of the 100th running of the 24 Hours of Le Mans, a race Rolex has sponsored since 2001. It is a 40 mm white gold Daytona on a white gold Oyster bracelet with three details that no other Daytona has. The black Cerachrom bezel prints the "100" on the tachymetric scale in red, a nod to the centenary. The black lacquer dial carries white counters with the stylised numerals of the 1960s "exotic" dials, the reversed-panda arrangement that collectors associate with the Paul Newman Daytona. And the movement is the calibre 4132, a variant of the 4131 whose chronograph hour counter at 6 o'clock is graduated to 24 hours instead of 12, so the watch can time a full day-long race; a sapphire case back shows it. Rolex has not published production numbers, and the watch is sold through authorised dealers at retail to clients who are offered one, which is why secondary asks have run at several times retail. Bizak's sourced catalogue listed a 126529LN at US$256,964 on October 12, 2026, sourced to order.
How do you tell a factory Le Mans from a modified 126509?
- The hour counter. This is the fastest check. A factory Le Mans has a 24-hour graduation on the counter at 6 o'clock because of the calibre 4132. A modified 126509 keeps the calibre 4131 and its 12-hour counter, whatever dial sits on top; an aftermarket dial may print 24 on the counter, but the hand will still make one turn in 12 hours.
- The case back. The 126529LN has a sapphire case back with the calibre visible. The 126509 has a solid back. A modified watch sold "with display back" has had its back swapped too, which is a further non-Rolex part.
- The warranty card and rehaut. The card states the reference. A card reading 126509 is a 126509. The serial engraved on the rehaut at 6 o'clock should match the card; it will not tell you the reference, but it will tell you whether the card belongs to the watch.
- The bezel. On the factory Le Mans the red "100" is fired into the Cerachrom and sits flush with the engraved numerals, with the thin white gold edge of the 2023 generation. Aftermarket inserts vary: look for a red that is printed rather than filled, numerals that differ in weight from the Rolex font, and a bezel edge that no longer matches the case.
- The dial. Factory dial printing is crisp under a loupe, and the counters' numerals follow the 1960s exotic style precisely. Aftermarket dials often show soft printing, uneven lume on the applied markers, or a "Le Mans" style that is close but not exact. Any dial on a 126509 that is not a Rolex dial for the 126509 is a non-genuine part, whatever its quality.
- The price. A "Le Mans" offered at anything close to the standard white gold Daytona is either a modified 126509 or something worse. There is no bargain factory 126529LN.
What do aftermarket parts do to the Rolex guarantee and service?
Rolex's international guarantee terms exclude watches that have been modified with non-genuine parts, and a bezel and a dial are the two parts most clearly covered by that exclusion. In practice, Rolex service centres and authorised dealers' workshops generally decline to work on a watch with non-Rolex parts, or will quote to restore it to factory specification with genuine parts before servicing it, at the owner's cost. The calibre 4131 inside a modified 126509 is unchanged, but the case has been opened by whoever fitted the dial, so the factory water-resistance test no longer stands and the watch should be pressure-tested by an independent watchmaker before it is worn near water. If the original 126509 bezel and dial come with the watch, a competent independent watchmaker can return it to factory specification, after which a Rolex service centre will usually treat it as a 126509 again; the five-year guarantee that came with the card is still, strictly, void from the moment of modification. Read the terms on the Rolex watch care and service page before buying any modified Rolex.
What do aftermarket parts do to value?
A modified Rolex is worth less than the same reference in factory condition to almost every dealer and auction house, and the gap widens the more parts have been changed. A 126509 with its original bezel and dial in the box is a 126509 with a costume it can take off; a 126509 without its original parts is a watch that needs two Rolex-only components before it can be sold as an unmodified reference, and Rolex does not sell those parts to the public. The Le Mans styling adds nothing to resale value, because the buyer who wants a Le Mans wants a 126529LN, and the buyer who wants a white gold Daytona usually wants it as Rolex made it. On October 12, 2026 Bizak's sourced catalogue listed the modified 126509LeMans at US$48,174, the same figure as two unmodified 126509 configurations and below the 126509BBLU at US$64,350 and the diamond-set-bracelet 126509BSDO at US$50,034, all sourced to order. If the sole reason to buy the modified watch is the look, that is a legitimate reason; if any part of the reason is investment, buy the unmodified 126509 or save for the 126529LN.

The 126509 is the white gold Daytona for someone who wants the full-metal bracelet and a watch that reads as precious metal at arm's length. The 126519LN is the same case on rubber, lighter and cheaper to insure, and the one most people choose if the bracelet is not the point. The 126500LN is the steel watch that the whole generation is built around; the 126500LN guide covers it. The 126529LN is a collector's watch priced as one. The previous generation is also worth a look: on October 12, 2026 our catalogue listed a 116509BLU, the blue-dial white gold Daytona with the engraved gold bezel, at US$47,300, and a pre-owned 116509BLKAO at US$27,899, both sourced to order; the 116509 keeps the calibre 4130 with 72 hours of reserve and the look of the 2000s white gold Daytona.
How does a white gold Daytona 126509 wear?
At 40 mm the Daytona is the easiest Rolex sports case to wear, and the 2023 generation trimmed the lugs and the bezel edge so that it sits a fraction lower than the 116500-series. On the white gold Oyster bracelet it is heavy, noticeably more so than steel, and the weight is what most owners notice first and stop noticing within a week. White gold is softer than steel, so the polished centre links and the case flanks pick up fine scratches faster; most owners accept that and polish lightly every few years. Chromalight on the hands and markers reads in the dark, the screw-down pushers must be unscrewed before the chronograph will start, and the Easylink extension gives 5 mm of adjustment without tools. Wrists from about 16 cm (6.3 inches) upward carry it well.
How much is a Rolex Daytona 126509? Prices in 2026
- Retail. Rolex's US list price for the white gold Daytona on the Oyster bracelet has sat in the US$40,000s since the 2023 launch; the current figure is on the Rolex Cosmograph Daytona page linked above. Allocation at authorised dealers is by relationship and waiting lists are long for every Daytona, though white gold on bracelet tends to come sooner than steel.
- Secondary market. Through 2025 and 2026 unworn full-set 126509 examples have generally asked a premium to retail that depends heavily on the dial. The Le Mans 126529LN has asked several times its retail price since launch and remains one of the most expensive current-production Rolex references on the secondary market.
- Bizak catalogue asks. On October 12, 2026 our sourced catalogue listed the modified 126509LeMans at US$48,174, unmodified 126509 configurations at US$48,174 (two dial codes), US$50,034 (diamond-set bracelet) and US$64,350 (126509BBLU), and the genuine 126529LN at US$256,964, all sourced to order.
Those figures describe what we saw and will move. Ask for a dated quote for the exact dial, year and card; our Rolex price guide explains how to compare quotes.
Buying a modified or unmodified 126509: what to check
- Which parts are original, in writing. For the modified watch, the seller should list every non-Rolex part (bezel, dial, and the case back if it has been changed) before any money changes hands. Bizak confirms this in writing with photographs of the exact watch.
- Whether the original parts come with it. The original 126509 bezel and dial are the difference between a reversible costume and a permanently modified watch. Their presence should be reflected in the price.
- Warranty card. The card should read 126509 and its serial should match the rehaut. A card reading 126529LN with a watch that has a 12-hour counter and a solid case back is a mismatch to walk away from.
- Hour counter and case back. Start the chronograph and confirm the hour counter is graduated to 12 on a 126509; look at the back and confirm it is solid.
- Case and bracelet. Sharp lug chamfers, even brushing on the bracelet tops and a Cerachrom bezel edge that still matches the case; white gold rounds off under enthusiastic polishing.
- Water resistance. Any 126509 whose dial has been changed has been opened outside Rolex. Ask for a recent pressure-test result or budget for one.
- Chronograph function. Pushers should unscrew smoothly; start, stop and reset should be crisp with the seconds hand returning exactly to zero.
- Price against the band. A full-set white gold Daytona offered well under the market, or a "Le Mans" offered anywhere near the standard 126509, is the single most reliable warning sign.
