Rolex Submariner 114060: 40 mm No-Date Specs and Price Guide

|Filip Biczak
Rolex Submariner 114060 no-date in 40 mm Oystersteel with black Cerachrom bezel and Maxi dial

The Rolex Submariner 114060 is the no-date Submariner made from 2012 to 2020: a 40 mm Oystersteel case, a black Cerachrom bezel, a Maxi dial with large luminous markers, the calibre 3130 and 300 m of water resistance. It replaced the aluminium-bezel 14060M and was itself replaced by the 41 mm 124060, so it is the middle generation of the modern no-date Submariner and now a pre-owned purchase. This guide covers the specifications, how it differs from the 124060, the Date models and the older 14060, why PVD examples are a separate category, how it wears, what Bizak's catalogue asked on 1 October 2026 and what to check before buying. Bizak & Co. sources the 114060 to order; the used Submariner collection lists what we can seek.

What is the Rolex Submariner 114060?

It is the Submariner without a date. Rolex has always sold two Submariner families: the no-date, which is the purer dive-watch dial, and the Date with a Cyclops over a window at 3. The 114060 is the ceramic no-date from the "Super Case" generation, with the thicker lugs and crown guards, the Maxi dial and the Cerachrom bezel that arrived on the Submariner Date in 2010 and on the no-date in 2012. It has no widely used collector nickname, which is part of its appeal: the black dial and black bezel are the reference configuration, and nothing about it is a fashion piece.

The 124060 is the better watch on paper: more reserve, a bigger bezel and a case that wears slimmer than its size suggests. The 114060 is the one with the chunkier lugs and the proportions that many collectors associate with the 2010s Submariner, and it is usually the cheaper route to a ceramic no-date.

114060 vs the Date Submariners and the 14060

The 114060 has no date. The ceramic Date models are different references: the 116610LN that ran from 2010 to 2020 and the current 126610LN, covered in our 126610LN guide. If you want a Cyclops, do not shop a 114060. At the other end, the 14060 and 14060M carry aluminium inserts that fade and scratch, and they are a different era with a slimmer case and a quieter lug; they are also usually cheaper. Reading the reference on the warranty card is the quickest way to separate them, and a Cerachrom bezel with a Maxi dial points to the 114060.

What about a 114060 with a PVD or DLC finish?

A PVD or DLC coating on a Submariner is aftermarket work, not a Rolex finish. Bizak lists one pre-owned 114060PVD example, asked at US$13,019 on 1 October 2026 and sourced to order. Treat that figure as a custom-finish price, not a guide to a standard watch: a coating is a modification, it can affect resale and any Rolex service eligibility, and it should be disclosed in the listing photographs. If you want the black-on-black look with a factory finish, the standard 114060 already has it.

How does the Submariner 114060 wear?

The 114060 wears larger than its 40 mm figure suggests because the lugs and crown guards are broad and the Maxi dial reads wide. It sits flat and balanced on wrists of about 16 to 18.5 cm (6.3 to 7.3 inches), and the Glidelock clasp lets you adjust the bracelet in small steps without tools, which is handy when a wrist changes through the day. With no date window the dial is symmetrical, so it looks calmer than the Date models. It is a watch you can wear with a suit or a wetsuit, and the ceramic bezel keeps its colour in a way an aluminium insert does not.

How much is a Rolex Submariner 114060? Dated prices

  • Retail. Rolex has discontinued the 114060 and no longer lists a price for it; the current no-date price is on the Rolex Submariner page linked above.
  • Bizak catalogue asks. On 1 October 2026 our sourced catalogue listed a 114060 at US$14,501, a pre-owned 114060-1 at US$12,155 and a pre-owned 114060 at US$9,764, all sourced to order. The spread reflects year, condition and what comes with the watch.
  • What moves the price. A full set with box and card, a clean unpolished case, a bracelet without stretch and a recent service each add; a replaced bezel, a stretched bracelet or missing papers each subtract.

Those figures describe what we saw and will move. We do not quote a wholesale median for the 114060, because our Q2 2026 wholesale report does not print a figure for this reference. Ask for a dated quote for the exact year and set; our Submariner price guide explains how to compare quotes.

Buying a used 114060: what to check

  • Reference and card. The card and case should read 114060, not 124060, a Date reference or a 14060; the card date should match the dial and bezel.
  • Bezel. Black Cerachrom with crisp numerals and no chips on the edge; a faded or scratched aluminium insert means a 14060 or a replacement.
  • Dial and date window. A plain no-date dial with a Maxi layout; there should be no date window anywhere.
  • Case. Sharp lug chamfers and even brushing; rounded edges mean repeated polishing.
  • Bracelet and clasp. Hold the watch by the clasp, and check the Glidelock and diver's extension for smooth operation and wear.
  • Finish. Confirm the steel is factory finish and not a PVD or DLC coating.
  • Service history. Ask for the last service receipt and pressure-test date; budget for a service if there is no record.

Our authentication process describes what we inspect before dispatch, and our vintage Submariner authentication guide goes deeper on dials and inserts.
