A complete TAG Heuer service costs $295 to $760 in the US for most watches. That is the range on TAG Heuer's own price list for most quartz and mechanical watches. TAG Heuer sets the fee by movement type. We read the list on November 2, 2026. It uses US dollars, leaves out tax and is non-binding. Bizak & Co. is a sourcing desk, not an authorized TAG Heuer dealer: every watch here is found to order, not held in stock.

How much does a TAG Heuer service cost?

A complete TAG Heuer service, which TAG Heuer calls M2, costs $295 to $760 for most quartz and mechanical watches. A partial service, called M1, costs $140 to $200. Haute Horlogerie watches cost $580 for M1 and $1,630 for M2. The table shows Groups 1 to 6 on the US list.

TAG Heuer group Partial service (M1) Complete service (M2)
Group 1: quartz watches $140 $295
Group 2: quartz chronographs and Solargraph $140 $370
Group 3: mechanical watches $200 $485
Group 4: mechanical chronographs $200 $595
Group 5: mechanical in-house and COSC $200 $760
Group 6: Haute Horlogerie $580 $1,630

Case and bracelet refurbishing adds $100 to either service. Some models over 20 years old also carry a $190 neo-vintage supplement on M2. Group 5 covers the Heuer 01, Heuer 02, 1887, TH20, TH30 and TH31 calibers, caliber 36, COSC movements and some other specific calibers. TAG Heuer calls every price suggested and non-binding, so treat the list as a guide. You can browse the TAG Heuer range to see references we can source.

What does a TAG Heuer service include?

A complete service renews the movement, the gaskets and the water resistance. The watchmaker takes the watch apart, then overhauls or replaces the movement, rebuilds it, oils it and regulates it. The watchmaker replaces worn parts and consumables, and the battery on quartz watches. The case and bracelet get an ultrasonic clean. A final check follows factory specs.

A partial service skips the movement overhaul. The watchmaker dismantles and cleans the case and bracelet, replaces every gasket and renews water resistance. On quartz watches, M1 also fits a new battery. TAG Heuer says the diagnosis and the cost estimate are free, shipping included. It prices work not on the list by estimate.

TAG Heuer backs the work and the parts it replaces for 24 months from the repair date on the invoice. After an M2, that cover includes water resistance and functional failures. After an M1, it leaves out the watch's functions.

How do quartz, automatic and chronograph services differ?

Mechanical watches cost more than quartz, and chronographs cost more than time-only watches on a complete service. A mechanical watch costs $190 more than a quartz watch for a complete service, at $485 against $295. A chronograph adds a stopwatch mechanism, so there is more to clean and adjust. TAG Heuer charges $75 more for a quartz chronograph and $110 more for a mechanical one.

Group 5 is the top tier before Haute Horlogerie, at $760. That is $275 more than a plain mechanical watch. Automatic watches fall under mechanical on TAG Heuer's list. TAG Heuer sorts by movement, so ask which group your watch is in.

A quartz chronograph, such as the Formula 1 quartz chronograph CAZ1014.BA0842, sits in Group 2. Our Formula 1 guide and Monaco guide cover those lines. Browse the Carrera, Monaco, Aquaracer and Formula 1 ranges to see what we can source.

What does a vintage TAG Heuer service cost?

A complete vintage service costs $610 to $1,525 on TAG Heuer's US list. The vintage list covers Heuer watches made before 1985. Expert watchmakers at TAG Heuer's Swiss Manufacture handle them. TAG Heuer says only its Swiss workshop restores watches over twenty years old.

Vintage group Partial service (M1) Complete service (M2)
Group 8: quartz vintage $300 $715
Group 9: mechanical vintage Not applicable $1,525
Group 10: Heuer simple stopwatch Not applicable $610
Group 11: vintage racing stopwatch Not applicable $915

Case and bracelet refurbishing adds $410 to a vintage complete service. TAG Heuer cannot guarantee water resistance on vintage watches and stopwatches, even after new gaskets.

How often should you service a TAG Heuer?

TAG Heuer usually recommends a full overhaul, its M2 service, every five to six years, for both mechanical and quartz watches. That advice is on its care page and in its Caliber 16 chronograph instructions. It adds that the right interval depends on how you wear the watch, and that you can wait until it runs wrong.

For water use, TAG Heuer advises a water-resistance test every two years, because gaskets age and corrode in water. Its service pages say to renew water resistance every two to three years, which a partial service does. A partial service costs $140 to $200 on most watches.

On a pre-owned watch, ask when it was last serviced. With no record, treat a service as due. You can browse pre-owned TAG Heuer watches to see references we can source.

How much does a TAG Heuer battery change cost?

TAG Heuer's cheapest listed quartz service, a $140 partial service, includes a new battery. That service also replaces the gaskets and renews water resistance. TAG Heuer also offers a separate battery service, but the US list gives no fee for it, so ask for a quote. TAG Heuer says a battery lasts two to three years on average, depending on the watch. A dead battery can leak and damage the mechanism, so replace it soon. TAG Heuer says to use an authorized workshop or store.

How long does a TAG Heuer service take?

TAG Heuer's US service pages, price list and FAQ give no turnaround time. Rolex, for comparison, says a complete overhaul takes at least four to six weeks. Ask TAG Heuer or the store for a date when you book.

Should you use a TAG Heuer service center or an independent watchmaker?

Use TAG Heuer while the watch is inside its warranty. The base warranty runs 24 months, and TAG Heuer adds three years on eligible watches bought from its official sellers and registered. That warranty covers manufacturing defects. It excludes watches that non-authorized people handled for a battery change, a service or a repair.

An independent watchmaker sets their own price and warranty. Prices vary by shop, so we give no range. Pick TAG Heuer if the warranty still runs. Pick an independent watchmaker if the warranty has ended and you trust the shop. Then get the quote, the parts list and the warranty in writing. Compare the total with TAG Heuer's list for your group.

How does TAG Heuer service cost compare with Rolex?

TAG Heuer usually costs less per visit, but it asks for visits more often. A mechanical TAG Heuer at $485 costs $175 less than the $660 Rolex lists for a modern base-tier model. A mechanical chronograph at $595 costs $345 less than the $940 Rolex lists for a modern Daytona. TAG Heuer suggests a full overhaul every five to six years, and Rolex says about every ten. The table divides each fee by that interval.

Watch Complete service Suggested interval Cost per year
TAG Heuer quartz (Group 1) $295 5 to 6 years $49 to $59
TAG Heuer mechanical (Group 3) $485 5 to 6 years $81 to $97
TAG Heuer mechanical chronograph (Group 4) $595 5 to 6 years $99 to $119
TAG Heuer in-house or COSC (Group 5) $760 5 to 6 years $127 to $152
Rolex modern base tier, such as the Datejust $660 About 10 years $66
Rolex modern Daytona $940 About 10 years $94

Per year, a mechanical TAG Heuer lands above a like Rolex. Our Rolex service cost guide has Rolex's full list by model.

What should you budget for TAG Heuer servicing?

Budget $295 to $760 for a complete service every five to six years. That is about $50 to $150 a year. Quartz watches sit at the low end, and in-house and COSC mechanical watches at the top. Add $100 for case and bracelet refurbishing. If the watch meets water, add a partial service at $140 to $200 every two to three years. Haute Horlogerie and vintage watches cost more.

Pick a quartz TAG Heuer if you want the lowest service fees, at about $50 to $75 a year before batteries. Pick a mechanical one if you want the movement and accept about $80 to $150 a year. Treat the list as a guide, because it is non-binding and leaves out tax. Get the free estimate before you approve any work.
