AP Royal Oak for women: sizes, movements and prices

Every size is water resistant to 50 m, apart from the fully snow-set diamond models (20 m). Prices are the lowest live Bizak catalogue price for each size on 19 October 2026, new or pre-owned as the listing states; tap a price to open that watch and reserve it.

Royal Oak Mini: 23 mm

The smallest current Royal Oak is 23 mm across and 6.6 mm thick. AP based it on the 20 mm Mini Royal Oak of 1997, the smallest Royal Oak ever made, and makes it only in 18-carat gold: in Frosted Gold with a tone-on-tone “Petite Tapisserie” dial, or in polished gold with a white mother-of-pearl or black onyx dial. Its quartz calibre 2730 shows the hours and minutes; AP quotes a battery life of over seven years, and pulling out the crown temporarily switches the battery off. Royal Oak 33 mm: AP’s quartz Royal Oak

The 33 mm Royal Oak is 7 mm thick, the slimmest Royal Oak after the 23 mm Mini. It runs on AP’s quartz calibre 2713, which shows the hours, minutes and date, and it is water resistant to 50 m. The diamond-set 67651 carries 40 brilliant-cut diamonds on the bezel, about 0.71 to 0.73 carat, and AP has made it in steel, steel with a pink gold bezel, pink, yellow and white gold, and titanium with a platinum bezel.

Royal Oak 34 mm: the selfwinding middle size

The 34 mm Royal Oak is selfwinding: AP calls the 77350 and the diamond-set 77351 its first 34 mm selfwinding Royal Oaks. Calibre 5800, with 28 jewels and a 50-hour power reserve, sits in a case 8.8 mm thick with a sapphire caseback, water resistant to 50 m. For the Royal Oak’s 50th anniversary in 2022 AP added the 77450 and 77451, with its updated Royal Oak design and a “50-years” oscillating weight. The diamond bezel carries 40 brilliant-cut diamonds, about 0.71 to 0.73 carat.

AP also makes a white gold 34 mm with a bezel of 32 baguette-cut diamonds and baguette hour-markers on a smoked blue dial, the 77451BC.

Royal Oak 37 mm: 15550 or 15450

The current 37 mm Royal Oak, the 15550 and the diamond-set 15551, arrived in 2022 with AP’s updated Royal Oak design, calibre 5900 and a case 9.1 mm thick. The earlier 15450 and 15451 used calibre 3120 in a 9.8 mm case; both movements have a 60-hour power reserve. The diamond bezel carries 40 brilliant-cut diamonds, about 0.88 to 0.92 carat. On Bizak a pre-owned 15450ST starts at $27,899 and a new 15550ST at $34,409, so the earlier model is the less expensive way into a 37 mm Royal Oak, while the 15550 is 0.7 mm thinner and has the newer movement.

The 37 mm also comes in yellow gold (a 15450BA starts at $73,077) and with a malachite stone dial (15553BA, $199,499).

Royal Oak Offshore 37 mm

AP presents the 37 mm Royal Oak Offshore Selfwinding Chronograph 26231 as its version for women: calibre 2385, with a 40-hour power reserve, in a case 12.4 mm thick, a bezel set with 32 brilliant-cut diamonds (about 1.02 carat), a softer “Lady Tapisserie” dial and a rubber strap. The 26430 brings calibre 6401, AP’s latest integrated selfwinding chronograph, with a 55-hour reserve in an 11.5 mm case. The time-only Royal Oak Offshore Selfwinding 37 mm (77600 and 77605) uses calibre 5909 or 5900, with 60 hours, in a 12.1 mm case. Earlier 37 mm Offshores include the 26048 chronograph and the quartz 67540, both with diamond bezels.

Diamond bezels and Frosted Gold

On the 33, 34 and 37 mm Royal Oak, AP sets 40 brilliant-cut diamonds on the bezel; the 37 mm Royal Oak Offshore chronograph carries 32. Each diamond-set version has its own reference: 67651 rather than 67650 in 33 mm, 77351 or 77451 rather than 77350 or 77450 in 34 mm, and 15451 or 15551 rather than 15450 or 15550 in 37 mm. Frosted Gold, which AP created with the jeweller Carolina Bucci from an ancient Florentine jewellery technique, has no stones: a diamond-tipped tool hammers tiny indentations into the gold so that it shimmers like diamond dust. It has come in all four sizes, from the 23 mm Mini to the 37 mm. 33, 34 or 37 mm: which Royal Oak size?

• 33 mm for a case only 7 mm thick and the lowest prices, if a quartz movement suits you: it keeps running whether or not you wear it.
• 34 mm for a selfwinding movement in a case 8.8 mm thick, with a sapphire caseback that shows calibre 5800.
• 37 mm for the widest choice of dials, metals and gem-settings and a 60-hour power reserve; the current 15550 is 9.1 mm thick.
• Offshore 37 mm for a sportier chronograph on a rubber strap, 11.5 to 12.4 mm thick.
• 23 mm Mini for a jewellery watch in solid gold.

The first Royal Oak for women

AP launched its first women’s Royal Oak, Model 8638, in 1976, four years after the original. It was designed by Jacqueline Dimier, one of the watch industry’s first women designers, who joined AP in 1975 and designed most of its watches for 24 years. She reworked the proportions of Gérald Genta’s design for a 29 mm case but kept what had made the 1972 watch provocative: steel, visible screws and automatic winding, here with the small selfwinding calibre 2062. The 8638 was also the first Royal Oak with the AP monogram at 12 o’clock. Presented at the Paris jeweller FRED before the 1976 Basel Fair, it sold 428 pieces that year and 765 in 1977, when gold versions followed. AP added the 20 mm Mini Royal Oak in 1997, and today’s 23 mm Mini pays tribute to Dimier.

What to check before you buy

• The full reference. The letters after the five digits give the material (ST steel, SR steel and pink gold, OR pink gold, BA yellow gold, BC white gold, IP titanium and platinum, CE and CB black and white ceramic) and the last two digits the dial, so the papers should match the watch exactly.
• Factory diamonds. A diamond bezel should come with a diamond-set reference on the papers, such as 67651, 77351, 77451, 15451 or 15551; stones on the bezel of a plain 67650, 77350 or 15450 point to aftermarket setting.
• Quartz service. On a 33 mm or a Mini, ask when the battery was last changed and whether the water resistance was tested at the same time.
• Case and bracelet. Look for softened edges from polishing, a stretched bracelet and loose or missing stones; on ceramic, look for chips.
• Warranty. AP gives five years of warranty on watches bought from its authorised network since 1 January 2017, so the date on the warranty card shows how much may remain.
