The Rolex Datejust 36 126233 is the current Datejust 36 in yellow Rolesor: a 36 mm Oystersteel case with an 18 ct yellow gold fluted bezel, yellow gold winding crown and yellow gold centre links, powered by the calibre 3235 with 70 hours of power reserve, on an Oyster or Jubilee bracelet. Rolex introduced the reference in 2018 when the Datejust 36 moved to the 3235 generation, replacing the 116233 that had carried the calibre 3135 since the mid 2000s. The 126233 is the two-tone Datejust most people picture, with the fluted bezel that the smooth-bezel 126203 lacks, and it is offered in more dial configurations than almost any other Rolex. This guide covers the specifications, the dial and bracelet choices, how the 126233 compares with the 126234, the 126203 and the earlier 16233, retail and dealer prices in 2026, and what to check before buying. Bizak & Co. sources the 126233 to order; the Datejust 36 collection lists the configurations we can seek.

What is yellow Rolesor and why does the fluted bezel matter?
Rolesor is Rolex's name for a case and bracelet that combine Oystersteel with 18 ct gold; on the 126233 the gold is yellow and appears on the bezel, the winding crown and the bracelet centre links, while the case body, lugs and outer links are steel. The fluted bezel is the second identifier. Rolex makes the fluting only in gold, so a fluted Datejust 36 is either yellow Rolesor (126233), white Rolesor with a white gold bezel (126234) or everose Rolesor (126231). The smooth-bezel yellow Rolesor Datejust 36 is a separate reference, the 126203, which is otherwise the same watch. If a listing describes a smooth bezel on a 126233, the reference or the description is wrong.
Which 126233 dials and bracelets does Bizak list?
Rolex offers the 126233 in several dozen dial and marker combinations, and the dial does far more to the price than the bracelet. On October 4, 2026 Bizak's sourced catalogue listed 34 configurations of the 126233 brand new, sourced to order, from US$13,484 to US$28,599. The table groups them by dial family; each row links to one example listing and all figures are dated asks, not quotes.
| Dial family | Oyster bracelet, 4 Oct 2026 | Jubilee bracelet, 4 Oct 2026 |
|---|---|---|
| White Roman | US$14,499 | US$14,999 |
| White index | US$16,499 | US$16,999 |
| Champagne index | US$16,499 | US$17,799 |

| Olive green index | US$21,499 | US$19,499 |
| Olive green Roman | US$21,499 | US$19,499 |
| White mother-of-pearl diamond | US$18,499 | US$19,899 |
| New white Roman | US$18,899 | US$19,499 |
| New silver Roman with diamond VI and IX | Ask for a quote | US$25,999 |
| New olive green Roman with diamond VI and IX | US$26,699 | US$28,599 |
| Golden dials, code listings | Ten further listings titled "Golden" from US$13,484 to US$21,514; confirm the exact dial from the listing photographs | |
Two patterns are worth noting. The Jubilee is not always the dearer bracelet: on the plain white and champagne dials it adds a few hundred dollars, while on the green and black Roman dials the Oyster carried the higher ask on the day. And the diamond VI and IX Roman dials introduced in 2025 sit about US$7,000 to US$10,000 above the plain Roman dials, which is the cost of the factory-set stones rather than any difference in the watch beneath them.

The 126234 is the choice for someone who wants the fluted bezel without visible gold on the bracelet; the white gold bezel is the only precious metal on it. The 126203 keeps the gold crown and centre links but swaps the fluting for a smooth, domed yellow gold bezel, and it is the less common sight of the two yellow Rolesor models. The 126233 is the reference that defines the Datejust in most people's minds, and it carries the broadest dial range of the three.

The practical gain of the 126233 over the 116233 is the 70-hour reserve, which lets the watch run from Friday evening to Monday morning, and the slimmer lug profile that makes the 2018 case sit flatter. The 16233 is the vintage route to the same look at a much lower price, with the trade-offs of a hollow-link bracelet that stretches and a sapphire-era movement that is now two to three service cycles old. Our 16233 guide covers what to check on those.
How does the Datejust 36 126233 wear?
At 36 mm with a lug-to-lug of about 44 mm, the Datejust 36 fits wrists from around 15 cm (5.9 inches) upward and is the size Rolex made the Datejust for most of its life. The fluted bezel catches light and makes the watch read slightly larger than the smooth-bezel 126203 or the steel 126200. The Jubilee drapes more closely over the wrist and suits dressier wear; the Oyster is flatter, sturdier and has the Easylink extension for hot days. Both bracelets use yellow gold centre links, so the metal shows from every angle. If 36 mm feels small, the Datejust 41 in the same metal is the 126333; our Datejust 41 126331 guide covers the 41 mm case.
How much is a Rolex Datejust 36 126233? Retail and dealer prices in 2026
- Retail. Rolex's US list price for an undecorated 126233 has sat roughly in the US$13,000 to US$15,000 band in 2025 and 2026 depending on dial and bracelet, with diamond-set dials higher; the current figure for each configuration is on the Rolex Datejust pages linked above. The Datejust 36 is among the more obtainable Rolex models at an authorised dealer, though popular dials such as olive green can carry a wait.
- Secondary market. Plain-dial 126233 examples have generally been asked at or a little above retail in 2025 and 2026, with the newer green and diamond-set dials commanding the larger premiums. The premium is modest compared with the steel sports models.
- Bizak catalogue asks. On October 4, 2026 our sourced catalogue listed 34 configurations brand new from US$13,484 to US$28,599, all sourced to order, with the plain white Roman dial on Oyster at US$14,499 and the olive green Roman with diamond VI and IX on Jubilee at the top of the range.
Those figures describe what we saw and will move. The dial, the markers and the bracelet move the price far more than the year, so ask for a dated quote for the exact configuration; our Rolex price guide explains how to compare quotes.
Is the Datejust 126233 a good investment?
It is a watch to own rather than to trade. Two-tone Datejusts hold value steadily but rarely run ahead of retail, so the sensible approach is to buy the dial you want near the market and wear it. The dials that have appreciated are the ones Rolex later withdrew, which cannot be predicted in advance. If resale matters, choose a configuration that is easy to describe and easy to photograph, keep the full set, and ask for a written cash-buy assessment before you commit.
Buying a 126233: what to check
- Reference and bezel. The card and the rehaut engraving must say 126233, and the bezel must be fluted. A smooth bezel means a 126203; a white gold bezel means a 126234.
- Dial matches the quote. With dozens of combinations, confirm the dial colour, the marker style and whether the stones are factory set from the photographs, not from the listing title alone.
- Warranty card. Every 126233 carries a five-year Rolex warranty from purchase; the serial on the card should match the rehaut. Rolex does not reissue cards.
- Gold wear. The yellow gold centre links and bezel scratch more easily than the steel; even hairlines are normal, deep gouges are not, and a bezel can only be polished so often before the fluting softens.
- Bracelet. On the Oyster, the Easylink should open and close cleanly; on the Jubilee, the concealed Crownclasp should sit flush with no play in the links.
- Movement. The date should jump instantly at midnight and set from the first crown position; the 3235 should wind smoothly with no grinding from the rotor.
- Price against the band. A full-set 126233 offered well under the dial family's typical ask is the single most reliable warning sign.
