The Rolex Datejust 41 126331 is the Everose Rolesor Datejust: a 41 mm Oystersteel watch with an 18 ct Everose gold fluted bezel, crown and bracelet centre links, offered with more dial choices than almost any other Rolex. It runs on the calibre 3235 with a power reserve of about 70 hours, and it is the two-tone Datejust for buyers who find yellow gold too loud. Its chocolate and sundust dials are among the most searched Rolex dials of the past decade. This guide covers the specifications, the current dials, how the 126331 compares with the 126333 and 126334, what it costs in the sourced market in 2026, and what to check before buying. Bizak & Co. sources the 126331 to order; the Datejust 41 collection lists the configurations we can seek.

Everose is Rolex's own pink gold alloy, made in-house with a small platinum content so that it keeps its colour instead of fading over time. That is why a 126331 stays warm where older two-tone watches turn pale. Rolex lists the current Datejust 41 range, including its Rolesor versions, on its official Datejust page, which is the place to confirm today's dials and list prices.
Which dials does the 126331 come in?
| Dial | Markers | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Chocolate | Baton, or diamond-set | The dial the 126331 is known for; deep brown that reads black indoors and warm in sunlight. The chocolate diamond dial has ten diamond hour markers. |
| Sundust | Baton or diamond | A pale, rose-toned finish that matches the bezel; the softest of the current dials. |
| Slate, Roman numerals | Roman | Grey with Everose Roman numerals; the most formal of the group. |
| Slate, fluted motif | Baton | A ridged pattern that echoes the fluted bezel. |
| Silver, fluted motif | Baton | The brighter fluted-motif option. |
| White mother-of-pearl | Diamond | The dressiest 126331; every dial is unique. |
Rolex rotates Datejust dials without notice, so a dial listed here may leave the current range and turn up only pre-owned. Our Datejust 41 buying guide covers the wider family.
What is the chocolate Rolex?
"Chocolate Rolex" almost always means a Datejust 41 126331 with the chocolate dial, on either the Jubilee or the Oyster bracelet, and often with diamond hour markers. Rolex also uses chocolate dials on Everose Day-Date and smaller Everose Datejust models, but the 126331 is the one most people mean, because it is the only version that mixes steel with Everose gold. That mix is also the most affordable route to the dial, since a full Everose watch costs far more.
Is Everose Rolesor better than yellow or white Rolesor?
Better is a matter of taste, but the three metals behave differently on the wrist. Everose is the warmest and the most muted, so it flatters brown, slate and sundust dials and looks less obviously gold than yellow Rolesor. Yellow gold reads as the classic two-tone and pairs with champagne and green dials. White Rolesor, the 126334 with a white gold bezel, looks like a steel watch from a distance. Everose also tends to show its character in mixed light: it can look almost copper indoors and pale pink outdoors. Try all three on your wrist before deciding, because the colour effect depends on your skin tone.
Jubilee or Oyster bracelet on a 126331?
The Jubilee has five narrow links and drapes more softly, which suits the dressy character of the fluted bezel and is the combination most often seen with the chocolate diamond dial. The Oyster has three wide links, looks sportier and reads slightly more modern. Both come with the Oysterclasp and the Easylink extension, so comfort adjustments are quick either way. Jubilee bracelets are more prone to visible stretch on used watches; Oyster bracelets hide wear better but show scratches on the polished centre links. If you are undecided, choose the bracelet that matches the dial: the ornate dials suit the Jubilee, and the plain baton dials suit either.
How does the Datejust 41 wear?
At 41 mm with a slim profile, the 126331 wears larger than a 36 mm Datejust but is dressier than a sports Rolex of the same diameter, because the case is thinner and the fluted bezel catches light at the edge. It fits most wrists from roughly 16 cm to 19 cm (6.3 to 7.5 inches). On smaller wrists the 36 mm Datejust is the alternative, and a bracelet with the Easylink extension will not fix a case that is too large. The watch sits comfortably under a shirt cuff, which is much of its appeal as an everyday two-tone.
How much is a Rolex 126331? Prices in 2026
- Retail. Rolex sets the US list price for each dial and bracelet, and it changes with time and currency. Read the figure on Rolex's own page linked above rather than a third-party summary. In general, diamond-set and mother-of-pearl dials carry a clear premium over baton dials, and the fluted-motif dials sit in between.
- Bizak catalogue. On September 29, 2026 our sourced catalogue listed 126331 configurations from about US$13,900 for a silver fluted-motif dial to about US$20,700 for a diamond-set slate dial, with baton chocolate examples at roughly US$16,400 to US$18,600 and a chocolate diamond dial at about US$20,300. A pre-owned sundust example was listed at about US$14,400. All are sourced to order, and asks vary by year, bracelet and papers.
- Waiting time. Datejust waits at authorised dealers tend to be shorter than for a Daytona or GMT-Master II, though popular dials can take months. Our Rolex waitlist guide explains how allocation works.

Is the Datejust an entry-level Rolex?
The steel Datejust is the usual first Rolex, and the 126331 is the step above it: the Everose gold bezel, crown and centre links add a meaningful premium over a steel Datejust 41. It is entry-level only in the sense that any Datejust is easier to buy than a Daytona or GMT-Master II. On the wrist, a chocolate-dial 126331 is one of the more distinctive Rolexes made, which is why it is bought as often by collectors adding a dress watch as by first-time buyers. Our best first Rolex guide weighs the options.
126331 vs 126333 vs 126334: which Datejust 41?
| 126331 | 126333 | 126334 | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Bezel and centre links | Everose gold, fluted | Yellow gold, fluted | White gold fluted bezel, steel bracelet |
| Signature dials | Chocolate, sundust, slate | Champagne, olive, slate | Blue, slate, mint green |
| Character | Warm two-tone | Classic two-tone | Steel with a gold bezel |
| Relative price | Highest of the three | Similar to the 126331 | Lowest of the three |
The case, movement and bracelets are the same across all three; the choice is the colour of the gold and the dials each metal is paired with. Our 126333 guide and 126334 guide cover the other two, and the 126300 guide covers the smooth-bezel steel watch.
Buying a used 126331: what to check
- Papers and card. The warranty card carries the serial and the dealer; Rolex does not reissue cards, so a watch without one stays without one.
- Everose wear. The gold centre links and bezel scratch more easily than steel; check the bezel flutes for flattening from polishing and the centre links for deep marks.
- Bracelet stretch. Jubilee bracelets show stretch first between the centre links; hold the watch by the case and let the bracelet hang to check for slack.
- Dial and diamonds. On a diamond dial, confirm that every stone is present and the settings look factory-clean, and ask whether any stones have been replaced.
- Serial and rehaut. The serial is engraved on the rehaut at 6 o'clock and on the card; they should match.
- Price against the range. A chocolate diamond dial offered well under comparable listings is the most reliable warning sign.
