The case, the bezel and every link of the bracelet are 18k rose gold, so the 5711/1R is markedly heavier than a steel 5711 and reads warm from across a room. The brown dial is a gradient, darker at the edge and lighter towards the centre, laid over the horizontal embossing every Nautilus carries. Indoors it looks close to chocolate; in sunlight it shifts towards bronze, and the gold hands and applied markers pick up the same warmth as the case.
