The Patek Philippe Nautilus 5990/1R-001 combines a flyback chronograph and Travel Time display in rose gold. Introduced in 2021, it pairs the Nautilus bracelet and case with a blue sunburst dial. Its appeal is the combination of timing and travel functions in one watch.

How the travel and chronograph displays work

The solid hour hand shows local time and the skeletonized hand shows home time. Pushers on the left side move local time forwards or backwards in one-hour steps. Separate day/night indicators help distinguish morning from evening in each location.

The chronograph records elapsed time with a central hand and a 60-minute counter at six o’clock. Its flyback function lets a running measurement reset and restart through the reset pusher. The date display sits at twelve o’clock and follows local time.

Rose gold and the steel 5990

The 5990 family began in steel in 2014; the rose-gold 5990/1R followed in 2021. Choose the case and bracelet material you prefer, then compare the complete reference and dial. A metal choice alone does not establish rarity or future resale value.

Patek’s 2021 Nautilus announcement describes the introduction, functions and original 120m water-resistance rating. The current reference page lists 30m. These are dated manufacturer specifications; use the applicable instructions and service advice for an individual watch.
