The Audemars Piguet Royal Oak 15550ST is the current 37 mm stainless steel Royal Oak Selfwinding: an octagonal case under 10 mm thick, a Grande Tapisserie dial with a date at 3, the calibre 5900 and the integrated steel bracelet 1356ST. Audemars Piguet introduced it in 2022 for the Royal Oak's 50th anniversary, replacing the 15450ST that had held the 37 mm slot since 2012, and "37 mm" in the model name is the case size rather than a nickname. It sits between the 34 mm 77450ST and the 41 mm 15510ST in the steel Selfwinding range and is the Royal Oak most often chosen by buyers who find the 41 mm too large and the 39 mm Jumbo too expensive. This guide covers the specifications, the eight dial configurations, what changed from the 15450ST, how the 15550ST compares with the 15510ST and the Jumbo, dealer prices in 2026 and what to check before buying. Bizak & Co. sources the 15550ST to order; the Royal Oak collection lists the configurations we can seek.

What changed from the 15450ST to the 15550ST?
The case dimensions stayed the same, so on the wrist the two are hard to tell apart. The changes are inside and on the dial. The calibre 5900 replaced the 3120, which brought the 37 mm in line with the 4302 in the 41 mm: a 4 Hz rate, a longer power reserve and a modern self-winding architecture. Launch examples in 2022 carried the 50th anniversary rotor engraved "50 years" in 22 ct gold, which is the quickest way to date a first-year watch; later production reverted to the standard rotor. The dial text moved: the 15550ST reads "Audemars Piguet" and "Automatic" with the AP monogram at 6 rather than the applied logo at 12 used on the 15450ST, and the Tapisserie pattern and the date window were refined to match the 41 mm. The bracelet code changed from 1256ST to 1356ST, with the clasp redesigned at the same time. Our 15450ST guide covers the outgoing reference in detail.
Which 15550ST dial configurations does Bizak list?
The 15550ST exists in eight steel configurations, numbered .01 to .08 after the bracelet code. Audemars Piguet uses the final suffix for the dial, so a silver, a blue or a grey dial can appear under more than one suffix as the brand revises the hands, markers or dial shade over the production run. On October 4, 2026 Bizak's sourced catalogue listed all eight, sourced to order:
| Configuration | Dial | Bizak catalogue ask, 4 Oct 2026 |
|---|---|---|
| 15550ST.OO.1356ST.01 | Silver-toned | US$51,500 |
| 15550ST.OO.1356ST.02 | Blue | US$52,259 |
| 15550ST.OO.1356ST.03 | Grey | US$45,320 |
| 15550ST.OO.1356ST.04 | Blue | US$52,259 |
| 15550ST.OO.1356ST.05 | Silver-toned | US$34,409 |
| 15550ST.OO.1356ST.06 | Blue | US$52,259 |
| 15550ST.OO.1356ST.07 | Grey | US$55,414 |
| 15550ST.OO.1356ST.08 | Blue | US$52,259 |
The spread between two silver dials, US$34,409 for the .05 and US$51,500 for the .01, is a reminder that the suffix is not the only variable. Year, whether the rotor is the anniversary version, box and papers, and whether the watch is unworn all move the ask, so treat the table as the band on one day rather than a price list. Always confirm the exact suffix from the warranty card and the caseback photographs before paying a deposit.

The 15510ST is the same design scaled to 41 mm and is the Royal Oak most people buy; it suits wrists above about 17 cm. The Jumbo is the reference closest to the 1972 original, with the thin case and the dial without a seconds hand, and it costs considerably more on the secondary market. The 15550ST gives the Selfwinding feature set, including the centre seconds and the display back, in a case that is closer in proportion to the Jumbo than to the 41 mm. For a smaller wrist, or for a Royal Oak that passes under a shirt cuff, it is the natural choice.
How does the 37 mm Royal Oak 15550ST wear?
The Royal Oak case is wider across the bezel than its stated diameter suggests, and the integrated bracelet continues the line of the case, so a 37 mm Royal Oak occupies about the space of a 39 mm round watch. On a wrist of 15 to 17 cm (5.9 to 6.7 inches) the 15550ST fills the wrist without overhang; above that it reads as a compact watch rather than a small one. The thin case is the real advantage over the 41 mm: it slides under a cuff and sits flat. The bracelet tapers from the case to the clasp and is finished with the same brushed and polished alternation as the case, which is why the Royal Oak shows scratches on the polished bevels quickly. The 15550ST is unisex in Audemars Piguet's own catalogue and is bought in roughly equal numbers by men and women.
How much is a Royal Oak 15550ST? Retail and dealer prices in 2026
- Retail. Audemars Piguet's published price for the 37 mm steel Selfwinding has sat in the high US$20,000s in 2025 and 2026; the current figure is on the Audemars Piguet collection pages linked above. Steel Royal Oaks are allocated to existing clients at boutiques, and a new client should expect a wait measured in years rather than months.
- Secondary market. Because retail allocation is restricted, unworn and lightly worn 15550ST examples have generally been asked well above list in 2025 and 2026, with the blue dial at the top and the grey and silver dials a step below. The premium is smaller than on the 41 mm 15510ST and much smaller than on the Jumbo.
- Bizak catalogue asks. On October 4, 2026 our sourced catalogue listed the eight configurations from US$34,409 to US$55,414, all sourced to order, with the blue dials at US$52,259 and the .07 grey dial at the top.
Those figures describe what we saw and will move. Ask for a dated quote for the exact suffix, year and set; our Audemars Piguet price guide explains how to compare quotes across the Royal Oak range.
Is the Royal Oak 15550ST a good investment?
It is a watch that has held its value well but is bought above retail, which caps the upside. Steel Royal Oaks fell from their 2022 peak through 2023 and 2024 and have been steadier since; the 37 mm has been less volatile than the 41 mm because it was never the speculative favourite. The configurations most likely to hold are the first-year anniversary-rotor examples with full sets. Buy it because the size and the finishing are what you want, and if resale matters, keep every link, the box and the warranty card and ask for a written cash-buy assessment before you commit.
Buying a 15550ST: what to check
- Reference and suffix. The warranty card and the caseback must read 15550ST.OO.1356ST followed by the suffix you were quoted; a 15450ST looks almost identical from the front.
- Rotor. Through the display back, a 2022 watch shows the "50 years" anniversary rotor; later watches show the standard rotor. Either is correct for its year, but the card date and the rotor should agree.
- Bezel screws. The eight white gold screws should sit aligned with the bezel's edges and show no tool marks; marks mean the bezel has been off.
- Case bevels. The polished chamfers on the case and bracelet should be crisp and even; rounded bevels and a mirror-smooth brushed surface mean refinishing.
- Bracelet. Count the links against the original length and check for any play between links; an undersized bracelet is expensive to extend.
- Service. The 5900 is new enough that most examples will not have been serviced; ask for the Audemars Piguet warranty card and any extension certificate.
- Price against the band. A full-set blue dial offered well under the dated asks above is the single most reliable warning sign.
